Dr Disrespect Banned On Twitch

• One of the most popular streamers Dr Disrespect banned on Twitch once again.

Twitch is trying to clean up their act. Recently there was a lot of sensation with the sexual harassment cases in the gaming world. Back to back many females came out and started to share their stories this already shook several pillars of esports and gaming world. Already several Dota 2 casters and several big names were accused of sexual harassment and their careers are ruined. Of course, Twitch also came out and stated that they will clean up their platform. On top of this Twitch also came out and stated the new DMCA rules against copyright breaches. This meant that several streamers were banned from the platform. Interestingly Dr Disrespect is banned also.

Why was Dr Disrespect Banned on Twitch?

Currently, we do not know why Dr Disrespect is banned. However, it is unlikely due to a sexual harassment act since there was no one formal complaint released, or anyone coming out of the woodworks. Of course, we do know that the Doc does not have the cleanest of records since he came out 2 years ago and stated that he was unfaithful to his wife.

But it has been a long time therefore it is most likely a DMCA ban. Dr Disrespect was supposed to come out on schedule when his ban was shared on Twitter.

Dr Disrespect was also banned before for going into a toilet during last year’s E3 expo. Of course, we will see the reason for the ban soon. However, currently, there is an ongoing battle between streamers and Twitch since the DMCA copyright rules also apply videos and clips done previously before the new rules came into effect. Also, Mixer closing down brought many streamers back to Twitch. Dr Disrespect is one of the most popular streamers in the industry therefore we are not expecting his ban to be a long one.

He also made sure to note that he is loyal to Twitch, and wouldn’t leave the platform. Of course, he found most of his success through Twitch, and Twitch is the leading platform for streamers. Additionally, Dr Disrespect is a huge asset for Twitch, so for him to remain banned wouldn’t be in the best interest of Twitch as it will not go down well with his millions of followers who use the platform.
