- Rainbow Six: Siege Year 5 Season 1 is coming soon. Today we will dive deep into recent news about the game.
Rainbow Six Siege is one of the most tactical FPS games in the world. Looking back we do realize that Rainbow Six Siege could have been much bigger. However, especially even after 5 years, the horrible launch of the game still haunts the fans to this day. The game was a broken mess and Ubisoft had to create a season called Operation Health in order to solve the biggest issues. Yet, the damage was done. When we are looking at Rainbow Six: Siege today we can say there is a very healthy player base.
This player base is the hardcore fans of the game. Nowadays, it is harder to start the game. The reason behind this is simple; most of the players in the game have several years of experience already. But the game is still one of the biggest games out there. Rainbow Six: Siege Year 4 Season 4 will end eventually. So when is Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 release date? Also, what do we know about Rainbow Six Siege Year 5?
Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Release Date
Rainbow Six: Siege Year 5 Season 1 will be announced per usual before the Finals at Six Invitational 2020. Generally, this major esports tournament take a few days and Rainbow Six fans can see the next season before the Finals. Rainbow Six: Siege Year 5 release date will be announced on February 16th, 2020. However, this is not the release date. Generally, there is a test before the season begins. Let us assume that PTS time will take 2-3 weeks. So Rainbow Six Siege Release date will be at the beginning of March 2020. This season is expected to bring some changes to the game also some sad news for the fans.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Operators
6 Operators will be coming this season. Generally, there are 4 seasons in a year and each season there will be 2 operators released, making it 8 operators. However, Ubisoft is changing its approach with Rainbow Six: Siege Year 5. This is regarded as sad news for the fans. Ubisoft developers expressed this decision via Reddit several days. According to them, this is done to create a more personalized Battle Pass. However this is where the problem starts, Rainbow Six Siege already had a Year Pass in the game for years now. This allowed for players to get the operators early and even if you did not get the Year Pass, players were able to get the Operators via in-game currency which is earnable. But with the Battle Pass now there are two subscription methods in one game. This is simply game microtransactions being out of control.
“As our Game Director, Leroy Athanassoff stated, “We are investing our resources on building more features and systems that will impact every player in every match”.The Year 5 Pass reflects this direction focused on features that benefit all players, not just those playing the newest Operators. It will lead to additional content for all players, such as free events, extensive reworks, and other core gameplay features. More details on why we are releasing six Operators in Year 5, as well as how that leads into Year 6 and beyond will be shared during the Six Invitational in February.” – Ubi-Fanch, Ubisoft Community Manager
Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Operators are coming from different countries this time. In the released images of Harry, there is a plane ticket to Greece. So we may be able to see an operator from Greece. Also, there are some hints about the new operators coming from reliable sources. These hints include that one of the operators might be charging through walls, and the other one can be an akimbo operator with dual wield weapons. This looks quite futuristic even for Rainbow Six Siege standards so we are not sure if this is true. Also, fans of the game are just hoping that the Year 5 operators are not like previous operator’s abilities becoming hybrids. We’ll need to wait to get more info about Year 5 Season 1.
