• Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Season 2 Operation Steel Wave is coming soon. Today we will take a look into the new operators and the new gadget.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Season 1 showed us the problems within the game. We have seen how new operators should have more useful utilities in the game. For the first time, we saw the new Year 5 operators Iana and Oryx both having low pick rates. The original operators are still doing good in the game however over the last few seasons we have seen some drops in the general pick rate of new operators. Also, the game needed a new gadget for sure. Rainbow Six Siege Operation Steel Wave is aiming for these problems. Today we will check the new Season Operation Steel Wave.

The new operators are extremely powerful. Ace the attacker from Norway can use his S.E.L.M.A charges in order to destroy soft and hard walls with ease. If he is used right he is uncounterable by banding tricking as he can throw these charges so quickly.  The charges detonate ina sequence which takes 12 seconds. It does open roughly the size of Hibana pellets and it all explodes without any problems it can blow up nearly an entire wall. The new defender is called Melusi and she is from South Africa she can place Banshee gadgets. These gadgets are bulletproof and can be only destroyed by explosives. It does cover a huge place and when attackers enter proximity it slows them down and emits a droning sound.

Both the new defender and the attacker uses very good weapons in Operation Steel Wave. The attacker Ace uses AK12 with regular Acog, unlike Fuze. Melusi uses Lesion’s T5SMG and it is maybe the best SMG in the game with low recoil and fast fire rate. The new gadget for defenders is proximity alarm as it will emit a high pitched noise if defenders pass through just like alarms in the bank. It is easy to hear by the defenders. As you can see the trap meta will be stronger with Operation Steel Wave. Operation Steel Wave release date is June 8, 2020 according to Ubisoft.
