Overwatch 2 might be announced on this year’s BlizzCon 2019. Of course, this is going to be an interesting concept because most of the Blizzard games tend to last many years. The most significant example being World of Warcraft. Of course, World of Warcraft is an MMORPG game and those games can last for years. However, Overwatch even though it is a shooter game has just finished three years. The game enjoyed a reasonable success prior to the Battle Royale games wave. First, we have seen PUBG and later Fortnite and now Apex Legends has a significant portion of the gaming community playing these games.
However, Overwatch still is played by millions of players. Of course, this year is BlizzCon is going to be extremely interesting with the recent problems Blizzard faced about the Hong Kong issues. The BlizzCon 2019 is on the verge of getting protested. But politics aside Overwatch 2 is going to be a very interesting addition to the FPS genre.
Overwatch is a hero shooter basically. We have seen many hero shooters came into the market. But the most significant opponent of Overwatch is currently Apex Legends. Yes, Apex Legends is a Battle Royale game. But Apex Legends just like “Overwatch heroes” has Legends as unique heroes with special ability. Each one is unique. This explains why ex-pro players like mendokusaii switched to this game.
Currently, there are no plans to be able to transfer items or progress from OW 1 to OW 2. Please don’t take this as a fact, I think if Blizzard changes one thing, it should be this. Again, this is current plans and hopefully not set in stone.

BlizzCon 2019 is going to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on the 1st and 2nd of November. We do hope that alongside Overwatch 2 we will see Diablo as well. Hopefully, Blizzard can change the course of the gaming world once more as they have done before.
