E3 2019: Information, Schedule, and Program
The next major video game event will be E3. With recent talks about the next-gen consoles, everyone was shocked when Sony Entertainment canceled their E3 appearance for the first time. It was a move that many were left confused. However, no other major company has canceled the event, with showings from Microsoft, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square-Enix and Nintendo. Let’s get right into the info.
When is E3?
This year, E3 will start from June 11 to June 13 which is a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It’s going to be three days of new technologies and never-before-seen products from industry leaders.
How Do I Attend E3?
E3 is held every year in Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event is opened to the public, however, passes are limited so it’s on a first-come-first-serve basis. In order to gain access to the event, you will need to purchase E3 Badges. There are two types of badges (excluding the Industry Badge):
Gamer Badge ($249) – This is an entry-level badge which gets to access to the event. You’ll get to see new games, technology and even test them.
Premium Badge ($995) – This is a VIP pass for video game lovers who want to experience the show on a whole new level. You’ll have access to the VIP lounge, breakfast and dinner each day, and many other amenities (full details here).
You can get the badges on the E3 website, but you’ll need to create an account first in order to lock in your details.
What is the E3 Coliseum?
The E3 Coliseum is a place where all the top video game developers go into details about their role in the company, as well as showing some behind-the-scenes and exclusive announcements. E3 attendees will get to experience some of the most influential names in the gaming industry which E3 dubs a “once-in-a-lifetime” conversation. Additionally, attendees will have a first look at upcoming video games as well as having the opportunity to ask questions to the panel. Here is the schedule for the E3 Coliseum:

E3 Official Floor Plan
E3 has recently announced their floor plan which shows the different sections between all the companies who will be at E3 this year showcasing their products. Nintendo has the biggest presence there with two large sections (4822 and 5244), the only company with more than one section. Bethesda, Ubisoft, Epic Games, Square Enix all have large sections as well.
Microsoft will be at the Microsoft Theater / Xbox Plaza during E3. The South and West Halls are missing one important player, which is quite evident while looking at the floor plans; Sony. An opportunity lost, or perhaps, strategic planning at it’s best. For those wondering how it will be at the Microsoft Theater, here’s a preview which was done last year at the show.
