Activision does not have a very good reputation in the gaming world. That much is true. However, sometimes they are butchered for no reason. Currently, there is are protests all over the United States for Racial Equality. Companies are racing with each other to show the biggest favor. Some are even forced to show their color such as Valve. Of course, since companies are supporting also esports organizations are doing the same. 100 Thieves was one of these organizations. They decided to make a Call of Duty Warzone tournament with a $100,000 prize pool. However, when they took their idea to Activision they got a response that they did not expect.
Unfortunately, Activision has denied our request to use Warzone for this charity tournament so we’ll need to postpone Gamers For Equality. We hope to still host this tournament and are working to find alternative solutions. https://t.co/rZAeYIMCQj

This was the first response by Activision according to 100 Thieves. However, soon the real bit came out and according to esports journalist “Breslau“, Activision actually said do not do a charity tournament with sponsors such as Cash App. But of course, 100 Thieves insisted on the tournament with Cash App since they were going to host the tournament, not 100 Thieves. 100 Thieves decided to come out and put the blame on Activision. Of course, Activision is also faulty.
Sources: 100 Thieves was told by Activision that they could run a CoD charity tournament without a sponsor (CashApp) and 100T refused. sources tell me 100T made the original announcement without consulting Activision, likely to get the public on their side https://t.co/1BJwIbRM11

Of course, here we need to state the fact that Activision once again handled a media response bad. The same thing happened over and over again with this company. Last week the match between Seattle Surge and Atlanta FaZe had a broadcast problem and the match has been off for 45 minutes when Seattle Surge was winning 2-0. The result was 3-2 and Activision got blamed for cutting Seattle Surge’s streak. The thing is ever since the BlitzChung incident Activision Blizzard is making mistakes one after another. We will see whether they can control it this time since it came right in the middle of Racial Equality protests.
