Fortnite Pros Who Did Not Qualify For The Fortnite World Cup

The World Cup qualifiers for Fortnite’s biggest event is over with. Now it’s time to look at pro players who did not qualify for the Fortnite World Cup esports event.

Fortnite World Cup

The Fortnite World Cup is the biggest esports event of the year, and we’re a week away. When Fortnite Battle Royale came out two years ago, no one would have thought that it would evolve to the point it’s at now. However, as time passed by, and after the game’s initial success, players from all over the world started asking for tournaments. This is one of the most amazing things that a game developer can hope for. It’s not easy for games to enter the esports arena. It requires a massive following (which Fortnite has), and a demand for competition. Games that enter the esports world tend to have a longer lifecycle.

Over the span of two years, Fortnite has produced some of the best players from all around the world. We’ve seen the competition rise just within the past year. Even popular streamers would take-part in tournaments, and many have since signed with an esports organization. Epic Games have hosted a number of esports events in the past year, and now they will be hosting the biggest esports event of 2019. Leading up to next weeks World Cup, players were competing every week in the World Cup Qualifiers to get their ticket to the finals.

After many months, the qualifying rounds have ended. Today we will take a look at the stars who missed qualifying for the Fortnite World Cup Finals. Remember that this does not mean that they are bad players, but missing the World Cup Finals was a big blow in their Fortnite career. Some of these players will most likely be making appearances in the World Cup regardless of their placements but not for competing.

So who didn’t make the Fortnite World Cup? Here’s the list of pro players that did not qualify for the major event.

Fortnite Pros Who Did Not Qualify For The Fortnite World Cup

1). 72hrs (Team Liquid)

One of the most popular player around, 72hrs, was unable to qualify. He was playing extremely well to qualify with his duo partner Vivid. However, when they were about to give the last shot; they were hit by a queue of 4 minutes, thus, missing the qualifying. Several players across the globe were also not enjoying the queue times but it cost him a ticket to the finals. We will not be seeing 72hrs at the Fortnite World Cup Finals this year.

2). Cloakzy (FaZe Clan)

Cloakzy is one of the best players in the game, and he happens to be teammates with another great player, tfue. However, Cloakzy was unable to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup. This was due to all the melodrama going between FaZe Clan and tfue somewhat. They were unable to compete for some of the weeks and were not able to secure the spot needed. Cloak will not be able to participate in the Fortnite World Cup Finals. This is sad because we all know of his potential especially when paired with tfue.

3). NICKMERCS (FaZe Clan)

Probably one of the best controller players out there. NICKMERCKS and Aydan battles are legendary. Ghost Aydan was able to qualify. However, NICKMERCS will be missing on the Fortnite World Cup Finals as well. NICKMERCS is a very good streamer and a very good player. FaZe Clan recently signed him to fill the spot left from tfue. However, he was unable to qualify in the finals in the end.

4). Symfuhny (NRG Esports)

Went outside and it was pretty nice 🙂

This was not unexpected, but Symfuhny will be missing the finals as well. This is mainly due to him switching several partners over the weeks. There was never a time for him to get better with a partner, therefore, he will watching other players play. The Fortnite World Cup Qualifying phase was absolutely brutal for some of the players. The change-up of partners cost him in the end.

5). SypherPK (Luminosity Gaming)

After trying to solve his connection issues for weeks, SypherPK was unable to qualify. Fortnite Battle Royale does not show mercy to players. The way the game is set requires an excellent connection at all times. All those building edits require a near-perfect connection. However, we are sure that he will be making his regular streams around the Fortnite World Cup Finals.

6). Chap (Team Liquid)

Chap was unable to qualify. He said that this was due to the current game state. The Fortnite World Cup Qualifying players were playing the game on a different meta. This was due to the point system. The system awarded players more if they were able to survive not on eliminations, therefore, players started to play much safer than Chap would like. Regardless, he will be missing out on the Fortnite World Cup Finals as well.

7). Kamo (Ghost Gaming)

Kamo will be missing in the Finals as well. This was normal due to his partner having an injury, and they were unable to compete for several weeks for the spots. For Kamo, finding a replacement partner didn’t make sense in such little time.

8). Daequan (TSM)

The inventor of the Double Pump did not qualify for the biggest esports event in recent time. He will be missing the Fortnite World Cup Finals, and we will be missing Daequan’s personality. Hopefully, he participates in an on-panel discussion and gives his thoughts during the event.

9). Myth (TSM)

The young architect. One of the best players when the Fortnite Battle Royale started to get more traction. However, being a very good builder does not guarantee a spot in the Fortnite World Cup Finals. Myth will be missing the tournament also.

10). Svennoss

The Fortnite Fall Skirmish star who earned a lot of money from tournaments was unable to qualify. Svennoss, an ex-player for NRG Esports is known for his tactical thinking which is best suited for tournaments rather than casual games. He was unable to qualify and therefore, the Euro squad will be missing another potential star.

11). Ninja

The first international star of Fortnite. Ninja transformed the game and streaming. He is still a very good player. However, he was not able to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup. He was extremely close to qualifying for Fortnite World Cup Finals and nearly did so with Reverse2k. But he was unable to push it in the last second. The fact that Ninja did not qualify for the finals doesn’t mean he’s a bad player, as you can see with all the other pro players on this list. The community will be missing Ninja from the Finals, however, he will still make an appearance at the Fortnite World Cup Creative Finals.

When is the Fortnite World Cup Finals?

The World Cup will take place on July 26-28 in New York. There is a 30 million dollars prize for 1st place. The World Cup Finals Solos Duos will be separate from Fortnite World Cup Creative Finals.
