Tony Flame, Matt Scronce and Dan Bunting just wrapped up an interview with John Rafacz giving specific details about tomorrows new Call of duty Black Ops 4 Season 3. Operation Grand Heist will be released tomorrow as part of the Black Ops season. Season 2 ends today with season 3 picking up on the PS4. Here’s the information you need to know.
Operation Grand Heist Season 3 Call of Duty Black Ops 4
There’s a lot of changes happening in season three, Operation Grand Heist. Tony Flame (Expert Game Designer, Matt Scronce (Senior Game Designer) and Dan Bunting (Co-studio head) joined John Rafacz (Director of Communications) to quickly discuss some of the new features Call of Duty fans will see tomorrow. The new season kicks off tomorrow on Playstation 4. Operaton Grand Heist Multiplayer maps and some content requires the Black Ops Pass, so gamers without the pass won’t have to full experience for the new season.
The entire CoD team has been working very hard in the last few months to bring the new season to fans with lots of additions in both multiplayer and Blackout. Some of the new additions won’t all be available from day one. Treyarch has planned new weapons, outfits, camo, and characters to be spread across the season.
Multiplayer
Dan Bunting said that for multiplayer, the biggest update will be the return of Outrider, a fan favorite specialist from Black Ops 3. Many fans have been asking for outrider to make her return this game and it will be granted tomorrow. The development team has done some overhauls to her mechanics. The “Sparrow”, which is Outriders main weapon is a fan favorite, and will be making it’s return also. It’s one of the most rewarding weapons Treyarch has ever released in it’s game, and they’ve made it even better this time. One of the changes with the “Sparrow” is that it can be fired from the hip, as well using the ADS.The benefit of what the ADS gets you is you get to zoom in for longer range combat.
Outrider will also come with a new piece of equipment which is called the “Hawk”. It’s essentially a mini drone. The Hawk can be flown and parked in a location. And it will automatically tag any enemies that walk in it’s view. Another addition will be the return of the popular Party Games mode. It’s a mix of slow and tactical combat, and speedy, in your-face combat. So the best of both worlds collide.
New Weapons
Matt Scronce went over some new weapons that will make their way into the new season. He said that not all the weapons would be released on day one, but he gave some views on what we can expect from the following.
Rampage full auto shotgun
This will be the first auto-shotgun for this game. The Rampage has many unique set of attachments that will make the gameplay really fun online. It has more of a traditional pellet mechanic where the player will want to get more pellets on target in order to maximize damage. So accuracy will play a big role with Rampage.
Switchblade SMG
The Switchblade SMG will have a unique feature never before seen in any Call of Duty game. The Switchblade SMG will be able to fold into a briefcase shape and back again which fits in with the heist theme. Because of it’s folding nature, it’s more of a light-weight SMG. It will be very fast, fast handling, and fast reload. It fits into the balance changes that Treyarch has recently rolled out.
Money bag Melee Weapon
The money bad melee weapon will go with the theme of the new operation heist and let players have fun smacking their opponents with a money bag.
All tuning details for Weapons, Scorestreaks, and Specialists will be detailed in the patch/update notes to be released tommorow.
