Call of duty esports fans received some exciting news. The Call of Duty League would finally make its return. After the CDL made the announcement on March 12th that the season would be temporarily on hold, they stated that all tournaments would be pushed to online-play. We’ve seen the LCS and the ESL Pro League for CS:GO move towards online-play.
The announcement broke the hearts of many professional players and content creators. However, everyone agreed that it was the best route to take given the COVID-19 situation. Live events would be hazardous to the goal of slowing down the spread of the Coronavirus. But since the announcement on March 12th, fans didn’t hear another mention of upcoming tournaments. Every tweet that was pushed out by @CODLeague would get a flurry of replies asking about the season. That will come to an end now with the new revised CDL Home Series 2020 schedule finally out.
Revised CDL Home Series Schedule
The league will continue with the Home Series starting with the Dallas Empire. Although it’s not much of a home series given that everyone will be playing online, Dallas will still have the advantage as every other team will play before them; as was the case for the Rokkr, FaZe and Guerrillas/OpTic in their home series events. This allows them to check out their competition beforehand.

Before the league started, many casters and news outlets placed Dallas Empire #1 on the ranking list. This was due to Dallas Empire’s strong performance in online=plau. However, Home Series events would be on LAN, and it’s a much different game compared to online. This is where Dallas Empire lagged a little behind, and teams like the Huntsmen and FaZe excelled in their LAN matches. But now that everything is shifted to online play, it’s a completely different ball game and we’re excited to see how this plays out.
LET’S GO!!!!
