Updated May 11, 2020: Here’s everything you need to know about CDL Florida Mutineers Home Series this weekend. Eight Call of Duty League esports teams will be competing for a prize pool of $100,000.
Day 3 – Florida Mutineers Home Series – May 10
Day 3 of the Florida Home Series had some shocking turn of events. The day opened up with the few remaining knockout round matches starting off with the shocking elimination of the home team, Florida Mutineers being swept by the New York Subliners. On the other end, OpTic Gaming LA finally came out of the knockout rounds to beat Paris Legion in an impressive 3-0 sweep. It was a much-needed win by both organizations who were falling behind in the leaderboards.
In the first leg of Qualifiers, Toronto Ultra beat the Minnesota Rokkr, sending them down to meet the New York Subliners in the knockout stage, while Atlanta FaZe cruised by the Lond Royal Ravens in a 3-1 series win to move into the semi-finals. In the second round of the knockout matches, New York Subliners beat the Minnesota Rokkr 3-1, while OpTic Gaming LA continued their dominance with a 3-0 sweep against the Royal Ravens, both teams moving onto the semi-finals. Toronto Ultra would finally make it past the Qualifier stage as would New York, and OpTic Gaming enter the semis for the 2nd time in the season. It would be a completely different look of who we’ve typically seen in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, we would see an interesting match-up between OGLA and Ultra; both teams who have momentum leading up to the match. In the other leg, We also have two teams who played exceptionally well during the opening rounds. New York have swept their opponents in the last two matches and are as hot as they can be while Atlanta are hungry to make up for their finals loss in Chicago. Here’s the schedule for CDL Sunday.

Day 2 – Florida Mutineers Home Series – May 9
In Day 1 of the Florida Home Series, four teams have moved to the Qualifier rounds. The Toronto Ultra, Minnesota Rokkr and Atlanta FaZe all had convincing wins in their first matches. The London Royal Ravens has to go to a game 5, but eventually beat the struggling OGLA to move on. The Dallas Open champs, Florida Mutineers, looked shaky in their first game. They were swept by Minnesota Rokkr, who they beat a few events ago in the finals.

Ironically, Florida also lost their opener during the Dallas Home Series last month, only to bounce back and win the tournament. Will the same thing happen this time around?
The New York Subliners looked great at the Chicago Home Series a few weeks back, and many Subliners fans were hoping that things were going to change for the better. But New York didn’t perform very good against Toronto and now they are facing the Mutineers who have already proven to be a lethal team in this league. The next match for both teams is do or die. In the other elimination round is the struggling OpTic Gaming against Paris Legion. This might be OpTic’s last stand to try and prove themselves as they have underperformed all season long given the allstar roster they have. They’ve also switched JKAP with Chino to try and mix some things up as there might be dynamic issues with the team. Paris Legion will be coming out strong lead by KISMET, so OpTic Gaming will need to have a solid plan heading into today’s match.

Day 1 – Florida Mutineers Home Series – May 8
After a two week break, the CDL resumes in the sunny state of Florida where the Florida Mutineers will be hosting this week’s Home Series event. Teams that have been struggling in the league started to shift their roster around, and we’ve seen that in the last event at Dallas where there has been some impact in the bracket stage. Heading into the CDL Florida Home Series, the two top teams in the CDL will be sitting out of this tournament; the Dallas Empire and the Chicago Huntsmen. Additionally, the Seattle Surge and LA Guerrillas will be taking a break. The format of the weekend will cover three days.
Eight esports teams will compete this weekend. The teams competing are the Atlanta FaZe, Florida Mutineers, Minnesota Rokkr, London Royal Ravens, New York Subliners, Paris Legion OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, and Toronto Ultra Currently, this is how the Call of Duty League leaderboards looks like:
In the last home series, we saw a nice surge from the Seattle Surge, who have been struggling throughout the season. Many fans in the community were quick to point out that Seattle had an easy path to their first semi-finals appearance as they played the LA Guerrillas twice. However, they had a good performance against one of the best teams in the league, the Atlanta FaZe and it’s definitely signs of encouragement for the organization. The New York Subliners also had some signs of improvement, upsetting the Chicago Huntsmen in their first match before conceding to the FaZe and then the Huntsmen in the knockout stage. The LAG, OLGA and Royal Ravens were knocked out of the tournament early own, with only the LAG moving to the next stage only to fall to the Surge again. The Dallas Empire met the Huntsmen in the semi-finals and were finally able to get a win against their rivals, pushing them to the finals and eventually beating the young and talented Atlanta FaZe team to win their 2nd Home Series title in the league.

Here is how Group A and Group B brackets look like:
Heading into the Florida Home Series, the Toronto Ultra, Paris Legion, Minnesota Rokkr and Florida Mutineers are back in action after missing out the Chicago Home series. It will be an exciting first day as we will get to see a rematch of the Dallas Home Series finals between the Rokkr and Mutineers.
New York Subliners will be up against the eager Toronto Ultra who showed some life in the Dallas home series. But New York will have something to preach as they also had a decent showing in the last event. They were able to beat one of the top teams in the league which speaks volumes. Both teams will face each other in the 2nd match of the day which should be an interesting one.
The Royal Ravens will be looking to bounce back after a poor performance in Chicago as they take on a struggling OpTic Gaming. OpTic Gaming‘s last event had the team exist early on like the Royal Ravens, so both teams will be looking to change that this time around.
The Atlanta FaZe are hungry for blood after dropping to Dallas Empire 3-1 in the finals, showing a vulnerable side. They’ll be looking to seek revenge in this home series despite Dallas Empire sitting out this tournament. The Paris Legion have been sitting in the first half of the leaderboards and will be looking to make an impact as well, although it will be quite difficult against a team seeking revenge like the Atlanta FaZe.
