- The inaugural Call of Duty League season is about to begin, and Activision Blizzard updated the schedule for the 2020 World Tour. Below is the final schedule for the Call of Duty League World League in 2020.
What Is The Call Of Duty League?
The Call of Duty League is Activision Blizzard’s new franchised esports league. It’s revamped completely from the old Call of Duty Pro League which had traditional esports teams (non-city bound). The new CDL has 12 franchised city teams which are the Toronto Ultra, New York Subliners, Atlanta FaZe, Florida Mutineers, Los Angeles Guerrillas, OpTic Gaming LA, Paris Legion, London Royal Ravens, Chicago Huntsmen, Dallas Empire, Minnesota Rokkr, and Seattle Surge. The Call of Duty League will have its inaugural season in 2020.
The New Call of Duty League
During the later part of the summer, things started to get clearer for the future of Call of Duty esports. Many diehard esports fans were still trying to cope with the fact that their beloved CWL (Call of Duty World League) would be no more, and that the site of traditional teams would vanish. Although the esports organizations that have participated in the old CoD Pro League would still be around, some were forced to leave their spot in the newly formed Call of Duty League (CDL) due to the extremely high cost of participation. Teams like 100 Thieves and Splyve would not move forward for the 2020 season.
As things started to clear up for the new Call of Duty League, fans would get to see new rosters unfold. The professional Call of Duty players who participated in the 2019 season would move forward in the 2020 season, however, all the rosters were broken up and the new teams in the league would start to recruit them for their team. The make-up of the CDL is bittersweet as fans still get to see their favorite players compete in one of the best FPS games to ever be created. Now that we’re heading into the new year, the official Call of Duty League schedule for the 2020 season is out.
Call of Duty League World Tour Schedule For 2020
The CDL inaugural season will have its regular-season matches shown in 11 markets across four countries. The 12 teams in the CDL will host two “Home Series weekends” and will feature a combination of host city team matches as well as matches against visiting teams. This means all teams will be competing at home and away.
The Call of Duty League 2020 World Tour will begin with its launch week in Minnesota; hosted by the Minnesota Rokkr. The launch weekend will begin on January 24 to January 26.
