Activision is copyright striking images of Call of Duty Warzone

  • Activision is bringing down people who used the Call of Duty Warzone leaked images. This might further confirm the Call of Duty Battle Royale.

Modern Warfare is one of the few games out there that get a lot of leaks. Even before the games out we had an idea of what it was going to look like. Gaming leaks can be a blessing and a curse for the companies. On one hand, they are the ultimate marketing tool; building up the hype. On the hand, it reveals everything and over time the hype starts to decrease. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare Battle Royale leaks started even before the game was released. According to yesterday’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 trailer, it looks like we are going to get the Battle Royale very soon and it will be called Call of Duty Warzone.

Activision Copyright Strike

Activision decided copyright strike the images used for this leak. The takedowns are happening mostly on Twitter, and if anyone has posted any leaks on YouTube, we’re certain Activision is also on it. Of course, we’re taking precautionary measures by not posting any of the leaked images here, but from the images shown it certainly looks legit. There are a few tweets that still have some images up, specifically one from the Gaming Revolution. The only reason it probably wasn’t taking down is that they are generic screen shots of what we already see in the game.

When we are taking a look at the current situation Activision is trying to play their hands without giving any hints. However, even Copyright striking these people for using the images is showing that it must be real. Several other leaks also showed that players were able to glitch into the Call of Duty Warzone Menu. This was listed as “Classified” and currently locked in the game. There’s some interesting information that we were able to gather from these images.

The images that were leaked showed 3 players at the main menu teamed up. This might suggest that “Squads” might be consisting of 3 players in Call of Duty Warzone. This is not for certain but Activision might be taking a page from Apex Legends in this regard. There will most likely be a single-player version also. Another interesting thing is the loadouts section in these images. This can mean that players will be able to equip their weapons before they start into the game. But this is a little bit against the spirit of the Battle Royale genre and it will most certainly delete the RNG mechanic from the game. There is also a tutorial for the game and this is most certainly welcomed by players. Call of Duty: Warzone is expected to be free-to-play on Xbox, PC and PlayStation 4.
