Apex Legends Global Series Is Coming

Apex Legends Global Series Esports Is Coming
  • The Battle Royale Game, Apex Legends, is taking another step forward in establishing itself as a solid esports title. Apex Legends Global Series is announced by Respawn and EA.

Apex Legends spiced up the Battle Royale scene when it was released last February. Fortnite and PUBG established a firm grip around the Battle Royale genre. However, Apex Legends was able to carve a portion of players from this. In the first month, Apex Legends broke several records with passing 50 million players. But afterward, the game had a setback because of some major problems. This was due to hackers and game content was considered small considered to other titles. However, Apex Legends started to attract new attention with Season 3 Meltdown.  Apex Legends esports scene consisted of small tournaments however now they have announced that Apex Legends Global Series is coming.

The overview of Apex Legends Global Series consists of 12 tournaments throughout the year. The first major will take place on January 25th, 2020. Players from all over the world can start applying for this Apex Legends Global series on January 1st. The total prize pool is around 3 million dollars. There are 60 countries eligible for this competition. Players can choose from 3 routes to enter the tournament. They can apply from Online tournaments and players can collect Apex Legends Global Series points.

The Apex Legends Challenger events will give local players to rise and fight also. These tournaments will allow winners to book a place in Apex Legends majors. Premier events will focus on big players from all over the world and allowing them to compete in the region against the region. Teams that can collect the Apex Legends Global Series will be able to compete in the Majors. This system allows everyone to join competitions.

There will be four Majors during the Apex Legends Global Series. The first three Majors will feature 300 players (100 three-player teams) competing for a $500k prize pool. The fourth Major is the Apex Legends Global Series Championship, where only the top 60 Global Series teams are invited to compete for a prize pool of $1 million. Each Major will culminate with a Finals incorporating the innovative Apex Legends MatchPoint system, first revealed at the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational in Poland earlier this year. In the MatchPoint system, teams must reach a predetermined Points threshold to activate Match Point. The tournament ends when a team that has activated Match Point wins a match and becomes the Apex Legends Champions.
